Reminder – Banner Upgrade Scheduled 3/1/2013
Starting at 6 p.m. on March 1 and continuing until 1 a.m. Saturday, March 2,– The Banner ERP system will be upgraded and all ERP services (Nell, SamWeb, My Sam, Banner SSB, and Banner INB) will be unavailable.
Update to Your iOS Device Required
As mentioned in our previous post a bug was released in the iOS 6.1 update for Apple devices that caused increased network traffic to Exchange (our e-mail server) and caused decreased battery life on the device. Apple has released iOS 6.1.2 that will correct this issue.
At this time if you are still on a version lower than iOS 6.1.2, you will not be able to process calendar requests through your device. Please update your Apple devices as soon as possible to avoid loss of service.
COGNOS REPORTING

ODS will be reloaded starting at 9pm (22-Feb-2013)- 10pm (23-Feb-2013) , it is not advised to run a Cognos report during this time period.
Upcoming System Maintenance
Friday, February 22
- 6 p.m. – Workstation Patches will be released that includes an update for Internet Explorer for all Windows workstations. Please be sure that you save all work and log out before leaving for the weekend.
- 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. ResHall Network will be intermittently unavailable due to the installation of new switches. Outages should not last more than one hour.
- 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. – ODS will be reloaded during this time. Please do not run any COGNOS reports during this time. This will be a recurring update scheduled for the last Friday of each month.

You are receiving the message as you are a person that has an Apple device (iPad or iPhone) that is running that iOS6.1 update. Apple has released iOS 6.1.2 that will correct this issue. Please update your Apple devices as soon as possible to avoid loss of service. Banner INB Access from Macs
On January 13, Apple issued an update that caused Java not to function on Macs if they were using a version of Java older than 7.11. Subsequently, this affected our ability to use any applications that use Java, specifically Banner INB. IT@Sam has been working on a solution to continue our use of the current Java version without upgrading to version 7.11 due to some incompatibility issues with Banner.
In the meantime, you should be able to use Remote.shsu.edu to access Banner INB. You can find instructions on how to access and log into remote.shsu.edu within our Technology Tutorials which can be accessed from the IT@Sam website. Desktops to Reboot This Weekend
On Friday evening, 2/15, IT@Sam will be releasing Microsoft workstation patches. Some of those patches will restart your computer to apply. Please ensure that you are saving your work and logging off of your computer before you leave for the weekend.

On Saturday 2/9/2012 between 12:00am and 6:00 am, LEARN our internet provider will be performing maintenance. During this time, we will experience an approximate 30 minute network outage which will affect the entire campus.
