Resetting Your Voice Mail PIN

If you forget your Voice Mail PIN, you can easily reset it either through Outlook Web Access or Outlook 2010. Follow the corresponding steps below to reset your Voice Mail PIN:

Resetting your Voice Mail PIN through Outlook Web Access:

  1. Sign into your SHSU email in Internet Explorer. (You must use Internet Explorer)
  2. Select ‘Options’ in the top right
  3. Select ‘Voice Mail’ on the left
  4. Select the ‘Reset my Voice Mail PIN’ tab
  5. You will have a message in your Inbox with your new Voice Mail PIN. When you first access your Voice Mail with this temporary PIN, it will expire and you will be asked to reset it.

Resetting your Voice Mail PIN through Outlook 2010

  1. Open Outlook 2010
  2. Select ‘Tools’ at the top and then ‘Options’
  3. Select the ‘Voice Mail’ tab
  4. Simply select ‘Reset PIN’ and you will be prompted by a window that will let you know that the PIN reset was successful.
  5. You will have a message in your Inbox with your new Voice Mail PIN. When you first access your Voice Mail with this temporary PIN, it will expire and you will be asked to reset it.

Resetting the Voice Mail PIN for a Generic Voice Mailbox:

  1. Sign into your SHSU email in Internet Explorer. (You must use Internet Explorer)
  2. Click on your name in the top, right-hand side of the page. A box will open up titled Open Other Mailbox.
  3. In the field box, type the username or ex_vmbx_##### supplementing the last 5 characters with your 5- digit extension.  (example: ex_vmbx_41950)
  4. Click Open and a new window will open up displaying the mailbox for that extension.
  5. Follow steps 2-6 in the guide above to complete the PIN reset.
