Good Friday afternoon to you! We hope your week has gone well. If you haven’t read the IT@Sam October Newsletter yet, then you should! There’s a lot going on this month.
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (#NCSAM). As Academic Alliance Partners with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS, the National Cyber Security Alliance, and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, we’re doing our part to help raise awareness on campus. Come find us at the LSC mall this month learn something new about cyber security and pick up some fun giveaways while you’re there.
And if you haven’t heard, our technology training is also undergoing a slight change (for the time being) until we have a new IT Trainer in place. Yes, Chas Stephens is moving on. But he’s not going very far! You can find him over at the nursing department if you ever want to stop by to say “Hello!” His last day is October 16. Check out our October training schedule for our updated course schedule.
This is only half of what’s in the newsletter! Click around to read the other tips and guides we put together for you.
Before you head off to enjoy your Friday, take note of network upgrades in the TEC first floor data closet, if this will affect you. Between 6 – 7 pm, network, wireless, and voice services on this floor will be unavailable. The fire alarm system will also lose connection to UPD. The outage should only last for 10 minutes, but the maintenance could last the entire hour.
That’s all from IT@Sam for this week. Have a great weekend!
